Basic practical skills: getting started with MS PowerPoint
To start the Microsoft PowerPoint presentation program, click the Start button ( Start ) and select option list of the Program. From the list of programs installed on this computer, the program is selected Microsoft Office , in which you must activate the < strong> Microsoft PowerPoint .
PowerPoint can also be run directly from the User Desktop if it has an icon corresponding to this program, or through a mini-icon in the set of quick buttons that are usually are placed in the upper right corner of the Desktop.
When you start the program PowerPoint , a dialog box appears (see Figure 15.2), which allows you to determine how the user works with the future presentation, i.e. gives him the opportunity:
1) create a new presentation using:
- Auto Content Wizard;
- presentation template

2) open an existing presentation.

Auto Content Wizard and Layout Templates in MS PowerPoint
When creating a new presentation, the user can resort to the help of the Auto Content Wizard, or choose from the proposed 24 templates of the presentation content the model of its style and spatial design that is most suitable for the purposes of the presentation being created. The templates offered by the program represent a presentation model with predefined color templates for designing the structural and semantic components ( objects ) of the slide and its background, as well as the typical style design of the text (Figure 15.3).

The Auto Content Wizard is designed to help the user to form the correct image of his presentation based on the basic types and types of existing presentations. The general view and structure of the dialog window of the Wizard of autocontainment was shown in Fig. 15.4.

At the initial stage, the Autosuggestion Wizard allows you to choose one of the standard structural and semantic presentation models (these models are divided into classes of general, business, project, business, etc. presentation models) that the user can then fill with his own content (rice 15.5).

At each subsequent step, the Auto Content Wizard will offer you a choice from a set of typical situations related to the presentation of the presentation, for example, how to design the presentation to be created, depending on the presentation form (in particular, choosing the optimal color for the presentation to be displayed with the projector on the screen, or for presentation on the Internet or print a presentation in the form of handouts), a way to design the title of the presentation and the text placed in the header of each slide , etc.
When the Autocontainment Wizard completes, a presentation blank is created - the initial version of the overall presentation plan with the title slide and the slides that reflect the items in the plan, to which you can add your own text, pictures and other multimedia information. Such a presentation is automatically generated by the Content Wizard in accordance with the theme defined in the first step, and also taking into account the selected presentation presentation form. An approximate presentation plan, generated by the AutoContent Wizard under the project scenario, in which the information about the author was included on the title slide, is shown in Fig. 15.6.
