Data Transfer System
A data transmission system is a collection of tools used to transmit information (Figure 6.3).

Technical means of data transfer are physical means of connecting and transferring data between systems. These tools are represented by network adapters, the network data transmission medium, modems.
The network adapter allows you to connect a local machine to the network (connect the computer to the network cable), i.e. create a new workstation.
The data transfer environment is the physical environment in which data is transferred (Figure 6.4).
The data transfer environments fall into two broad categories: the cable environment for data transmission and the wireless medium for data transmission.
The data cable environment assumes that certain types of cables exist. The three common types of cable are: twisted pair, coaxial cable, fiber optic cable.
Twisted pair ( Twisted Pair) contains two or more pairs of twisted copper conductors enclosed in one shell . There are two types of twisted pairs: unshielded twisted pair (UTP) and shielded twisted pair (STP).
Coaxial cable ( Coax ) has two conductors with a common central axis. In the center of such a cable is a solid copper conductor or stranded wire. It is encased in a plastic foamed insulated layer. There are two types of coaxial cables: thin coaxial cable (thin coaxial cable) and thick coaxial cable (thick coaxial cable).
Fiber Optic Cable ( Fiber Optic) is made of light-conducting glass or plastic fibers. FDDI (Fiber Distributed Data Interface) is a data transmission standard in a local network stretching for a distance of up to 200 km.

Modems are used to transfer information from computer to computer, control remote computers and local networks, other electronic equipment, while working with remote terminals in multi-user systems. Modem (modulator-demodulator) is a device for direct (modulator) and reverse (demodulator) conversion of signals to the form adopted for use in a certain communication channel and intended for converting digital signals to analog and vice versa.
The wireless medium is used when a large distance or obstacles make it difficult to use another medium.
There are two main types of wireless media: radio waves and infrared radiation.
Data communication software is a software package that provides data transfer.
The software of the data transmission system can be divided into general-purpose programs and specialized programs.

Network peripheral equipment includes printers, facsimile devices, etc.
Printers . Computer output devices that convert ASCII codes - American Standard Code for Information Interchange - to their corresponding graphic characters and fixing these characters on paper are called printers or printers.
Multimedia. The complex of hardware and software that allow the user to communicate with the computer using a variety of natural environments for the user: sound, video, graphics, text, animation, and others are called Multimedia.
Media facilities include audio (voice) and video I/O devices; high-quality audio and video cards, video capture cards that take pictures from a VCR or camcorder and insert it into a PC.
