Stages of social development and their social and pedagogical characteristics

The very expression & quot; social development & quot; as a socio-pedagogical process implies the existence of stages in the realization of the resources of an individual's development and the development of the pedagogical capabilities of society.

Social development of the personality as a socio-pedagogical process includes five stages: 1) an introductory stage, which includes a primary adaptation to the social environment and acquaintance with the elementary social experience, - the stage of choosing and building interaction with social environment ; 2) development of agreement and trust of the person to the surrounding reality - stage of active development of the society, reflecting the heightened interest of the individual to the entire community of individuals and their activities; 3) the accumulation of targeted experience - the stage of active development of personality, is the adequate acceptance of social experience and its use in their own activities; 4) mastering the social role and social status of an individual - the stage of obtaining social experience ; 5) personal development of social behavior based on the realization of the pedagogical potential of the society in resolving the problems of its socialization is a stage of improving one's own experience, including positive changes in one's own achievements and development of one's own way of life.

Introductory stage: the social development of the personality is directly related to the choice, competent construction and development of interaction with the surrounding world and people, taking into account the individual characteristics of a person. On his way of life, a person sooner or later meets with various elements of the society: other individuals (as we mentioned earlier, representing the society with their social needs, social abilities and social values), social activities (the result of which is necessarily a socially significant product), social relations interpersonal, intergroup, interagency, etc.), social institutions (the primary of which is the family and further educational, medical, legal, social okulturnye and other institutions and organizations, parties and movements). Depending on their predisposition, the conditions of socialization, each individual concentrates his attention, his own abilities on this or that element of society (some prefer to solve their problems through social activities, others through the establishment of socially significant relations, third rates are made on various social institutions or on individual personalities, etc., realize the pedagogical potential of the chosen element of society on their way of socialization in society) and makes their life choices.

A conscious choice is a catalyst for personal development. By itself, any choice is a step forward, backward, left, right, etc. A person does a thousand steps every day and if you look at the social and pedagogical approach, he makes a thousand elections every day, based on his social needs, social abilities and social values. Any contact presupposes interaction and the following choice of the further path of development. One of the main manifestations of society in relation to a particular person is his influence on the person, from birth to old age. People, things, objects and events, varieties of social activity, types of socially significant relations, social institutions that are present in the world, have their place to be here, regardless of us, ie. each of them occupies its niche objectively and exerts influence on a person. And each of them is able to open their pedagogical capabilities and resources to solve the problems of socialization, for the social development of the individual. This influence penetrates into a single individual through and through the judgments, opinions and beliefs that any person has. The development of a person as an individual is reduced to one thing: to learn how to choose the right way in the ocean of daily proposals for the realization of vital personal and social tasks. On this path, a person finds success, recognition, social status, communication, a new experience, and maybe the second half, etc.

The second stage : the social development of the personality as a stage of developing the consent and trust of the person to the surrounding reality. Each individual not only lives in a certain society, but also, representing himself as a constituent of this society, constantly coordinates his views, thoughts, attitudes, evaluations, actions and, in general, activity with other elements of the society (individuals or social institutions). Consent in social development allows you to maximize the use of each of the elements of society. The higher the level of agreement, the more stable the process of social development, the more stable the results of socialization of a person.

Social development of the personality through consent is a kind of monitoring of the realization of the pedagogical capabilities of the society in acquiring new social qualities for the personality.

Social development and trust. So, we came very close to such a concept as trust. Any communication begins at a communicative level with the exchange of information. A characteristic feature of modern communication is an inadequate perception of the speaker's information. Often, when people communicate among themselves, one or both of the participants can be immediately followed, to put it mildly, by a cold perception of the information that the other tries to bring to him. Very often such information is capable of radically and radically changing its existence, and even for the better. But, alas, in his personal arsenal there was not a crumb of trust, not that to the surrounding world, first of all to himself. Social development of the individual assumes a high level of trust in the incoming information about the essence and content of the perceived phenomenon.

Third stage : social development of the personality as an accumulation of targeted experience. Own social experience of the individual is accumulated as a result of personal participation in interaction with the social environment, which most often has an impact on it. Addressing experience can be a positive and negative property. Social development of the personality is the acquisition of targeted experience, taking into account the individual characteristics of a person. In real life, the following happens. The accumulated life experience stimulates and provokes to expand and change the facets of perception of the immediate immediate, real world, the nearest society. Social development largely depends on the accumulation of their own experience of socialization or their own social experience, including experience of interaction with various elements of society, as well as with the society as a whole. For example, the more people participated in social activities (in actions, in voluntary, volunteer and other youth movements, in public activities, etc.), the more a wide range of social conditions he experienced, the broader social experience he was able to learn, understand, accept and be guided in his daily life, the higher the level of his social results, and consequently, the level of his social development.

The fourth stage: social development can be considered as a stage of mastering the individual's social role and social status.

In social development of personality, an important place is occupied by social roles performed by a person for a certain time, as well as his social status. A person performs many different roles, and each time he needs to be somehow different in order to get approval and recognition.

In different situations, a person performs different roles, but in some ways he always remains himself, that is, role behavior is a kind of combination of roles and personality of the performer. Each role imposes a well-known imprint on the individual, on the person's self-consciousness, as a person mobilizes the resources of his body and psyche to perform a role.

In accordance with age, sex, origin, profession, marital status, each person in society has a certain social status. This is a certain position in the social structure of a group or society, connected with other positions through a system of rights and duties. The main status is the most characteristic status for a given person, with which it is identified (identified) by other people or with whom he identifies himself. The main thing is always the status that determines the style and way of life, the circle of acquaintances, the manner of behavior.

Thus, it can be said that the status emphasizes the similarity of people, and the role is their difference. Thus, the role is individual behavior in accordance with its status.

The fifth stage : social development is the mastering by the individual of social behavior on the basis of the realization of the pedagogical potential of the society in resolving the problems of its socialization. The behavior of a person is an outwardly observable act, the actions of individuals, their definite sequence, which in one way or another affect the interests of other people, their groups, the whole society. Human behavior acquires a social meaning, becomes personal when it is included in communication with other people. Consequently, any manifestation of human behavior is fundamentally social.

Social behavior is an external manifestation of an activity in which a particular position of a person, his attitude, is revealed. It is a form of transforming activity into real action in relation to socially significant objects. As the mechanisms of self-regulation of social behavior of a person, social attitudes arise that are formed in the specific conditions of the external environment.

A social attitude is a readiness, a predisposition of a person to a certain activity and social actions in relation to an object. A social attitude is a value attitude toward a social object, psychologically expressed in the readiness for a positive or negative reaction to it.

However, despite the fact that the social behavior of an individual is largely determined by the status it occupies and the roles it plays in society, it (the personality) nevertheless retains its autonomy and a certain freedom of choice.

Thus, the above stages of social development of the individual reflect the essence of his interaction with the potential of the society, with the realization of his pedagogical capabilities and resources, which contribute to resolving the problems of socialization of the personality and the appearance of significant social qualities in it. In fact, the social development of the individual as a socio-pedagogical process includes the stages of selecting the socially important elements of the society, their pedagogical potential, as well as the competent construction and development of interaction with the surrounding world and people, taking into account the individual characteristics of the individual; the development of agreement and trust in the surrounding reality; accumulation of personal experience of participation in interaction with the social environment; the development of the social role and the acquisition of social status by the individual; mastering the personality of social behavior, its role and place in society.

Like any process, social development is a fully measurable phenomenon and has its own criteria for assessing the level of its development. The main criteria for social development are: intra-type data (social needs, social abilities, social values); interindividual data (social behavior, lifestyle, social interaction (social roles and social norms), and social relations (social status, rights and responsibilities).)
