7.3. Dismantling of buildings and structures during their reconstruction and demolition

When disassembling buildings and structures during their reconstruction or demolition, measures should be envisaged to prevent the exposure of workers to the following hazardous and harmful production factors related to the nature of the work:

o spontaneous collapse of structural elements of structures and the fall of the above loose structures, materials, equipment;

o moving parts of construction machines, objects they move;

o sharp edges, corners, protruding pins;

o increased content of dust and harmful substances in the air;

o The location of the workplace near the edge of the height is 1.3 m or more.

Before construction starts, all structures and structures located in the fire breaks must be demolished at the construction site. Prior to the disassembly of buildings, preparatory measures should be taken that relate to the resettlement of citizens residing in them or the departure of organizations located there, as well as disconnection from water, heat, gas, electricity, sewerage, technological product pipelines and measures against their damage.

Before starting work, it is necessary to familiarize the employees with the solutions provided for in the PPR, and instruct them about safe working methods. Removal of unstable structures during disassembly of the building must be carried out in the presence of the work manager. When disassembling buildings, access to them by unauthorized persons who are not involved in the production of works is prohibited, and areas for dismantling buildings should be protected. The passage of people into the premises during the dismantling of buildings must be closed.

When dismantling buildings mechanically, it is necessary to install dangerous zones for people, and machines (mechanisms) should be located outside the collapse zone of structures. The driver's cab should be protected from possible splintering particles, and workers should be provided with protective goggles. When disassembling buildings, as well as when cleaning waste and garbage, measures are taken to reduce dust formation. Work in dusty conditions should be provided with respiratory protective equipment from airborne dust and microorganisms (molds, fungi, their spores).

Before admitting workers to places with a possible appearance of gas or harmful substances, they must be ventilated. If the gas suddenly appears, work should be stopped and workers removed from the danger zone. Disassembly of buildings (dismantling of structures) must be done sequentially from the top down. It is forbidden to simultaneously dismantle buildings in several tiers along a single vertical line. When disassembling buildings, it is necessary to leave passageways for workplaces. When disassembling the roof and exterior walls, workers need to use safety belts.

Do not perform work during ice, fog, rain, which excludes the visibility within the front of work, thunder and wind at a speed of 15 m/s or more. When disassembling buildings, spontaneous collapse or collapse of structures should be prevented, and unstable structures that are in the area of work should be removed or fastened or strengthened. Materials obtained from dismantling of buildings, as well as construction debris, should be lowered in closed gutters either in closed boxes or containers with the help of cranes, while the lower end of the gutter should not be more than 1 m above the ground or enter the bunker. Dumping of garbage without gutters or other devices is allowed from a height of not more than 3 m, and hazardous areas in these areas should be protected. Materials that are obtained during the dismantling of buildings, it is necessary to store it in specially designated areas.
