Ethical Analysis of Employee Medication Testing

In this project, I will carry out an ethical evaluation of companies partaking in random mandatory employee medicine testing within the office. To support my findings, I will refer to both non-consequentialist and consequentialist ideas which will allow me to place forward a non-bias argument both for and against this action. For the purposes of this report my principal emphasis will be on the non- consequential theory with particular mention of Deontology. To support my analysis, I am going to make reference to multiple perspectives such as; politics, monetary and sociological. These tools will allow me to recognize the moral basics of random medicine testing within the task place and also to create a non-biased argument within in my own results as well as expressing my judgment to a qualification.

In relation to a non-consequential theory the results of your action are not the primary emphasis of the honest justification. Instead the focus is exclusively on the impact of the activities carried out and if the actions are deemed to be moral right or wrong.

In relation to drug tests within the work place this step is ethically right. To aid my conclusions, I centered on the non-consequential theory- Deontology. This theory targets the action rather than the consequences. Even though the consequences make reference to the invasion of worker level of privacy and the breech with their fidelity agreement predicated on my chosen theory this isn't important. In my judgment the action should be integrated to give a safe working environment for employees per regulatory legislation and provide a obligation of care to the people who work within the organisation. Unless they don't really do drugs and leave the challenge at the gate they'll end up taking this into the workplace and conclude bringing an unpredictable working environment for all other employees. The main matter for employers is to make sure that a safe working environment is provided always.
