Functional and some special keys

The FI-F12 function keys are located in the upper row of the keyboard (Figure 7.1). They are programmed, so the actions performed when they are pressed depend on the specific program. In most programs, the & lt; F1 & gt; causes a hint (Help). In the Word editor, the & lt; F4 & gt; is used to repeat the last action, and the & lt; F12 & gt; - to perform the operation "Save as ... in the File menu.

In Table. 7.2 shows the purpose of special keys.

Cursor keys

The cursor is called a flickering symbol on the screen (usually in the form of a vertical line), indicating the location of the display of the keyboard-printed character. The cursor keys are located to the right of the alphanumeric keys (see Figure 7.1). Their purpose is given in Table. 7.3.

Numeric Keypad

The numeric keypad keys are located on the right side of the keyboard (see Figure 7.1). If you press the & lt; Num Lock & gt; (Num Lock), the Num Lock indicator lights up and the numeric keypad goes to the numeric entry mode (0-9), the mathematical symbols of the addition +/-, subtraction "-", multiplication (*), division (/) and the point (.). If you press the & lt; Num Lock & gt; key again, so that the corresponding indicator does not light up, the numeric keypad will go into the cursor control mode, which was discussed above.
