Priorities

Goal: Develop a simulation model according to the variant of the task. Learn to set priorities for processing entities. It is necessary to be able to distinguish between the priority of the RESOURCE and the priority of the next.

Work order:

Option 1

The specialized computer processes requests of two types. The second type of query has a higher priority in preprocessing, which takes about 4 seconds. The second type of query has a higher priority for the main processing, which takes 3 seconds for queries of the first type and (5 ± 2) s, but more often 4 seconds for requests of the second type.

Inquiries of the first type are received every 2 seconds, and the second one every 10 seconds. Simulate the system for 2 hours.

Option 2

Three types of tasks are periodically performed in a specialized computer system, which are characterized by priority levels: zero, first and second. Each operator starts a new task using the display, working on it (50 ± 30) s. After the task is started, it requires 100 ± 50 for its execution from the processor time, and the jobs are executed in accordance with the priority level. The results of job processing are printed without interruption for 30 ± 10 s, after which they are analyzed for (60 ± 20) s and the job is started again. We can assume that when the display is running and the results are printed, the processor is not used.

Model the process of the system, provided that the task of the second priority level is executed 100 times.

Option 3

The Computing Center carries out processing of tasks of three classes: A, B and C.

Based on the availability of main memory, the tasks of classes A and B can be solved simultaneously, and tasks of class C monopolize the computer.

Class assignments are made through (20 ± 5) mines, class B - through (20 ± 10) min, and class C - through (30 ± 10) min and require for performance: class A - (20 ± 5) min, class B - (21 ± 3) min and class C - (28 ± 5) min. Tasks of class C are loaded into the computer if it is completely free. The tasks of classes A and B can be uploaded to the task at hand. Simulate the work of the computer for 30 hours.

◘Variant 4

Four terminals are connected to the minicomputer, from which the tasks are solved. By command from the terminal, editing, translation, planning and solution operations are performed. Moreover, if at least one terminal performs planning, the rest are forced to stand idle due to lack of operational memory. If two terminals issue a demand for a solution, the remaining two are idle. If there are three terminals that issue broadcast jobs, the remaining terminal is blocked. The intensity of the receipt of tasks of different types is equal. Tasks of the same type from one terminal are delivered through exponentially distributed time intervals with an average value of 160 s. The execution of any operation lasts 10 seconds.

◘Variant 5

Requests with a priority of 1 to 5 are sent to the distributed data bank every 5 seconds. At the data availability check phase, which

takes 0.5 seconds, requests are processed in accordance with priority. At the next stage of data acquisition, which takes (2 ± 1) s, processing takes place in the order of the queue.

Model the processing of 500 requests.

◘Extension 6

In the computer running in the process control system, every (7 ± 1) s receives a data block from one of two types of sensors. Then the information is processed for 2 seconds. Information from the sensors of the first type has a higher processing priority. After processing the data block, the computer sends it to the external storage. The record in the repository lasts 1 sec and occurs with priority that is the reverse of the processing priority.

Model the processing of 250 data blocks.

Option 7

A message switching node, consisting of an input buffer, a processor and one output line, receives messages from two directions. The first line receives messages that require more urgent processing.

Messages are received every 3 seconds, message processing takes I s, and the transmission of the message from the input buffer to the processor takes 0.5 s.

Simulate the operation of the switching node within an hour.

Option 8

Three types of tasks that have priority from 1 to 3 are periodically delivered to the computer system. Tasks of the first type are received every 7 seconds, the second one every 10 seconds, and the third one every 15 seconds. The job processing takes 3 seconds and takes place in accordance with the priority. As soon as the result of the job is received, it is generally written to the backup storage on the basis of a tape drive (the record takes 1 second).

Simulate the process of the system for 8 hours.

◘Variant 9

◘ Option 10

The processing of tasks consists of two stages: calculation and testing. Tasks come in two forms. Time of receipt of tasks of the first kind is a random variable, uniformly distributed over the interval from 1 to 6 minutes, the second type - from 1 to 2 minutes. On the calculation of the tasks of the first type is spent from 4 to 10 minutes, the second type - from 6 to 9 minutes. Testing of any task is evenly distributed over the interval of 1-3 minutes.

The calculation and testing is performed by one processor, with the first type of tasks having a higher priority when servicing.
