Work window view
Consider the main elements of any working window of the system "ConsultantPlus" (Figure 6.3).
The following control elements are provided in the system:
• Main Menu;
• Quick Access Toolbar;
• the toolbar;
• the context menu.
Main Menu contains the main functions of the system, as well as a number of standard commands for any Windows-based application. The headings of the main menu are always the same, but the list of commands contained in them varies depending on the active working window.
When working with the system for the convenience of the user, each selected search tool opens in a separate window. Switching between windows can be done using tabs located in the Main Menu row.

Use the Quick Access Toolbar to go to the following tools.
Search Card is the main search tool in the system, since it allows you to formulate the most flexible search task. With the help of the Search Card, you can search by requisites, search by subject classifier, contextual search by text of documents.
Quick Search allows you to find a specific document, a fragment of a document, a list of documents by known requisites or a description of a legal problem.
Legal navigator allows you to get basic documents on a legal issue in the event that the details of the documents are not known.
The Codecs tool allows you to quickly search for any valid US code.
Guides contain analytical materials and links to documents for solving current professional issues: Tax Guide, Transaction Guide, Personnel Guide, Guide to Judicial Practice (Civil Code), Guide to Corporate Disputes and others
Background provides access to documents prepared by the specialists of "ConsultantPlus", which provide current and frequently used financial, economic and general information (for example, the accountant's calendar, exchange rates, tax rates and other obligatory payments, conditions and the order of coming into force of normative acts).
The Reviews tool provides access to legal monitoring.
Glossary of terms allows you to find the definition of a chosen concept in a law or an explanatory dictionary.
The Press and Books tool provides access to monographs and materials published in legal and economic publications (newspapers, magazines).
The Favorites tool allows you to access previously compiled sets of documents and bookmarks in the text of documents that were saved by the user on the system.
The Search History tool enables you to quickly repeat the search for documents that you have done before.
The set of functions (and corresponding buttons) of the toolbar depends on the selected modes of operation - the type of search, the modes of working with the list of documents or the text of the document.
The context menu, called by the right mouse button, contains a set of commands for the object that is selected in the working window.
Quick Search is the easiest and most convenient way to start a search on the system.
Quick Search lets you find:
• a specific document;
• a specific fragment of the document;
• Documents on an unknown issue for a user (problem).
You can start using Quick Search directly from the Start Page or go to the Quick Search window from anywhere in the system by clicking the Quick Access toolbar.
In the Quick Search bar, you can specify known information about the document or a description of the problem.
As a result of the Quick Search operation, a single list of documents is obtained (without breakdown by information banks), which contains normative documents, court decisions, comments, etc. This list is sorted by relevance to the request: at the top of the list are the documents that most closely match the conditions of the request. The list includes no more than 50 documents.
In the right part of the window there is a panel with the Legal navigator sections, corresponding to the search task (Figure 6.4). This allows you to refine the search query using the Legal navigator.
If you need to get a complete list of documents in the form of a list tree (as a result of using the Search Card), in the Quick Search list, click the Build full list link, located at the top right.

Example 6.1. Find all documents related to access to information about the activities of ships.
To do this, follow these steps:
1. Open the Quick Search window .
2. Enter a description of the problem in the search bar ACCESS TO VESSEL ACTIVITY INFORMATION.
3. Click the Find button to build the list of documents (see Figure 6.4).
