In this task, the present writer is going to debate the validity of the affirmation mentioned above. Within this highly competitive business community, Transnational Organizations (TNCs) has increased dramatically around the globe to gain competitive advantage over its rivals. TNCs play an important role in the global current economic climate because they have got the power and capacity to effect the vulnerable economy. However, while TNCs doing business overseas; it actually brings in some positive and negative influences to the sponsor country where the businesses are established. Hence, the objective of this task is to clarify whether TNCs provide more problems or benefits to the sponsor countries in conditions of economical, technical, environmental and interpersonal aspects.
Host countries' monetary is one of the aspects that need to be concerned when TNCs doing business in foreign countries. TNCs play an important role in expanding host countries' economy. First, when TNCs are to use Greenfield Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in web host countries, it will inject a amount of capital to the host country. This inflow of capital to the variety country indeed aids the countries development such as infrastructure, specially when they are facing capital shortage issue. For instance, in China, due to the joint ventures with TNCs and domestic firms, it includes helped China in enhancing its infrastructure (Wang 2008, cited in Impact of TNC, 2008). While conducting business there, TNCs would definitely create linkages with local suppliers. Hence, indirectly, TNCs lifted a boost to them in terms of sales, products quality and repayment system and etc. For instance, as shown in shape 1, almost all of the local suppliers in Malaysia concur that, international hypermarket has benefited them in several area.

Undoubtedly, TNCs has benefited web host countries in such way, but it generates problem such as monopolies market, influence counties' BOP and transfer pricing. Consequently, TNCs are likely to increase the competition of the number market so that local firm will remain competitive vigorously to obtain market show. However, some TNCs are too vigorous. They would like to find the total market share of the particular industry. Among the potential example of monopolise market would be the TNCs in New Zealand. New Zealand has drawn considerable TNCs to open up business in its country. Because of the small and unsophisticated overall economy, most of TNCs has monopolised the market in a number of sector. As a result, the national talk about market is principally dominated by international companies. Hence, it has an adverse result to the local individuals as they encountered a significant high price for the merchandise that sell in the oligopoly market. (Marc T. Jones, 2000). Besides that, Number 2 is the data that presents the percentage of telecommunication companies that gain control on the market of number countries.

TNCs can offer a positive impact on balance-of-payment (BOP) of the number countries as well as negative. It generates an optimistic BOP to coordinator countries when the entire export is higher than import which escalates the GDP of the countries. However, it comes with an adverse influence when TNCs brought in materials from other countries to provide host countries. For instance, JAMA (Japan Vehicle Manufacturers Association) has almost the full control over import and export of U. S. motor vehicle industry. As shown in shape 3, though JAMA has expanded its creation to U. S, it still imports a numbers of automobiles from its home country. This shows that, U. S did not profit anything, in fact, it manages to lose it operate balance. Besides that, as shown in number 4 JAMA exports vehicles from the U. S structured plant. Yes, this has contributed to the U. S. economy as the GDP has increased. On the other hand, it harms the U. S exchange rates as JAMA remitted profits that gained in U. S back to its home country. This picture is not favourable because the loss of circulating money of the local market will have an effect on the currency exchange rates. When TNCs send gains back to its father or mother company, it's actually selling the local currency which producing a degrading in the currency exchange rate of the neighborhood market.
Another conditions that TNCs affect the number countries' economic is the transfer pricing. TNCs provide an advantage of intra-firm trade to avoid fees. Relating to Martin Feil (director of duty expert and electronic international trade service) says that, company uses transfer pricing to flee from paying duty in Australia ( Foreign Possession Facts, n. d). In U. K. , a study discovered that 83% of 210 TNCs involved in transfer costing (Peter Dicken, 2007). For example, Google as one of the large multinational companies are manipulating the transfer costs to avoid taxes. Google's subsidiary company that located in U. K acquired avoided 450 million of corporate taxes with the use of transfer pricing in 2009 2009 (Simon Bowers, 2009). Hence, by manipulating the intra-firm strategy, TNCs will copy its prices back again to its home country or another subsidiary company if the fees in sponsor countries are higher. Hence, host countries will suffer from losing a good payment of taxes or even suffer zero taxes revenue from foreign organization.

Other than economical, scientific is also one aspects that need to be looked at. Corresponding to Hill, TNCs technology transfer has an optimistic impact on sponsor countries (Hill Charles W. L, 2007, pg 245). Technology transfer establishes an instant technology change in variety countries and formed the distribution of creation and trade to an improved development growth. Technology copy can maintain terms of equipment and equipment, quality control, process and product design, management know-how and also research and development. Therefore, with the advance technology, it can facilitate the merchandise and labour production for the reason that particular industry. Besides that, when TNCs are to invest significantly on technology R&D in web host countries, it can help to improve and innovate the prevailing technologies and also create new systems. An example, Hutchison Port Keeping and APM Terminals have help the producing countries around by increasing the efficiency of cargo handling with the new equipment and techniques in container slots as well as the know-how that required Other than that, between 1994 and 200, the labour efficiency has increased by almost 6% on a yearly basis in Latin America partially because the functions that TNCs brought in has been recognized (EFFECT ON Tnc, 2008).
However, there's also negative effects when TNCs contributed only a negligible engagement in strengthening local development system. TNCs would not copy the major skills of innovating technology, in truth only the results of the technology. Besides that, TNCs usually do not reveal a lot of their technology to local suppliers. It will only promote within the organizations. Though, it is required that there will need to have linkages between TNCs and local suppliers, international companies do nearly teach and support the neighborhood firms. In these situations, host countries would not be able to master the whole invention idea of the technology. As a result, it could always stay one step behind from the digital world. For instance, a study of Caribbean countries, Trinidad and Tobago discovered that, the international petrochemical company only give a little technological and managerial technique to the local support organizations. But, it work meticulously and form alliance with the international constructions and executive firms that have technology expertise which they are lacking of (Mytelka L. K & Barclay L. A, n. d). Because of this, with the in short supply of skills and knowledge, these sponsor countries could not get up as fast with high-tech countries.
Furthermore, environmental aspect should also take into consideration. To be able to contribute back to the world, TNCs started off with corporate communal responsibilities. Within this present period, natural stocks and shares are depleting just about everywhere. Hence, with the money and electric power that TNCs owned or operated, it gets the capabilities in helping number countries on environmental issues. For instance, Mitsubishi Corporation has placed an environmental friendly job in Malaysia, a tree-planting ecotour in 2009 2009. This task is to replant trees which have been demolished (Mitsubishi Company Environment, 2009). It really is tremendously good that TNCs contribute back again to the host countries. But, not absolutely all TNCs are liable. Some TNCs tend to alter their environmental noxious and unsafe operation to countries that have less stringent environmental rules. With this dreadful behaviour, host country are affected from the polluted environment that TNCs created. However, the situation is not merely the pollution that polluted the countries but the health of the folks too. For example, an incident happens in Indonesia, Buyat Pantai following the Newmount Mining Organization, a U. S silver producer. This company has created big environmental issues at that area. It not only damage the whole village with no electricity, normal water or a highway full with mud, but it contaminated sickness that got never occurs in that area before (Sabaha Khan, 2009). Other than that, Shell Corporation has created serious environmental issues in Nigeria. Since Shell begins its business in Ogoniland in 1958, Ogoniland communities experienced land and water being poisoned. This situation has devastated the Ogoniland market and medical concerned of the individuals as they highly dependent on farming and sportfishing and water consuming (Shell in Nigeria, n. d). As a result, though resources can be restored, it takes extensively long time to recoup. Aside from the depletion of natural stocks and options, environment of the countries are relatively important. The dreadful behaviour of TNCs causes a great injury to the web host countries even though some responsible TNCs try to overcome.
Apart from that, social concern is also an aspect that should be measured. Among the great benefits that TNCs taken to web host countries is reduced the poverty of the country. TNCs will surely bring a substantial employment for the coffee lover especially while TNCs are buying Greenfield FDI. Hence, this indirectly raised up the communities living standards to an increased degree. For instance, TNCs in Cambodia possessed utilized more than 300, 000 women that usually come from the rural place. There women that work for the corporations earn above average salary. Hence, about 60% of these salary will send back again to their house villages. Therefore, indirectly, TNCs has contributed in raising the people living criteria and also reduce the poverty that had been suffering (Joy Abbenice, n. d. ). Besides that, one Japanese organization, Yazaki arrived to Samoa to be one of the vital employers that experienced contributed significantly in reducing poverty of Samoa. This shows that, TNCs are important for web host countries especially in elevating up the living benchmarks.
Nevertheless, there is always bad and the good. A number of the TNCs abuse the individuals right of people in number countries. They do not bother to concern the neighborhood people but their income. Though it stated that TNCs created job opportunity, it could not all cured its labour well. TNCs have a tendency to fully or higher utilise the personnel and pay a minimum wages. A big IT Taiwanese corporation, Foxconn has applied more than 200, 000 labours in Shenzhen. However, it generally does not treated is workers well. It will pay less and demands the workers to work more than 12 time every day including weekends (Kan Wan, 2007). Hence, these TNCs can be viewed as as sweatshop as they don't concern people in their variety countries. And in addition, an instance of big company Coca Cola has abuses the people right in conditions of worker's right and discrimination. These were a huge selection of Coca Cola personnel in Colombia have been kidnapped and tortured by signing up for the protesting the company's labour practice. As the same circumstance, in Turkey a vehicle driver and his individuals were beaten for protesting a layoff by polis that the business chosen. In Mexico, a older manager was fired by Coca Cola to be homosexual (Most Required, 2007). Hence, with these bad activities, TNCs would harm the social welfare of the individuals in number countries with the lacking of proper discussions and sufficient compensations. In this particular situation, the victims have to have problems with injustice because they are not able to deal with with those powerful TNCs.
In a nutshell, predicated on the discussion above, it is clear that on balance, the problems arise outweighed the huge benefits on host countries that helped bring by TNC. This is because, the main goal of TNCs are to gain profits. It might not bother the after influence on host countries. On top of that, problems that happen in web host country A would arise in coordinator country B. That is due to the various policy that sponsor countries perform. But, problems remain problems. They stills are present even though these problems do not influence some others. Problems that come to cross usually affect the least developed countries. Thus, it brings up to a more widening gap between the poor and the wealthy. Because of this, yes, it is true that TNCs have brought more problems than benefits on web host countries but, problems that occur can always be overthrown and fixed. Hence, even though problems take place, coordinator countries do no stop TNCs in doing business nationally because anyhow, there are still certain benefits that TNCs taken to number countries. They are willing to attract a substantial FDI because both people are depending on each other to gain shared benefits.
