New principles of working with editorial offices

The development of modern information channels and the emergence of new information consumers who want to get the information they need at a convenient time and place, requires a new workflow organization. That is why the process of media convergence is connected with new principles of organization of work of editorial offices, the appearance of new departments.

Internet Department

In many world and domestic publications, Internet departments ( web department ), online editorial offices, have appeared for a long time (about 10 years ago). They began to be created with the development of Internet versions of the media, when gradually the pages of newspapers on the Internet ceased to be a copy of the printed publication and turned into independent multimedia resources. The Internet edition can include only a few people or be a huge unit (Table 1.2).

The employees of the Internet department edit the newspaper materials: if necessary, the part of the note is deleted if it has lost its relevance and a new version of the material is already published from the editorial office of the site.

The online department today often includes continuous-cycle news departments or departments of "hot" (Breaking News Desks/Continuous News Desks) (Fig. 1.1).

Journalists of the information departments of the continuous cycle work 24 hours a day, seven days a week and, as a rule, prepare text materials for the site. In some publications, the production of "hot" The news also extends to mobile media, TV and radio. Departments of hot news have appeared in the last few years in many foreign publications, most newspaper sites have "hot" news is the most visited part of the content.
