Assessment of competitiveness of faculty

In conditions of market relations, the quality of the teacher's work is the most important component of the competitiveness of the teaching staff. Recall that competitiveness determines the ability of an individual to withstand competition in the market of educational services.

Evaluation of the competitiveness of the faculty should be carried out based on its external and internal competitive advantages.

The external competitive advantage of personnel is determined by the competitiveness of the institution in which a particular teacher works. However, this advantage is more typical for the PPP of the central universities of the country, which have a certain positive image, formed for many years, such as the Moscow State University. For most teachers of peripheral universities this competitive advantage is less significant.

The internal competitive advantage of personnel is determined by the totality of its professional and personal characteristics.

There is an approximate list of the qualities of the staff, which characterizes its competitiveness. These are:

• the competitiveness of the organization in which the staff operates;

• hereditary competitive advantages (abilities, physical data, etc.);

• business qualities (education, special skills, knowledge, skills);

• Intelligence, culture;

• communication skills;

• Organizationality

• age;

• Health.

The aforementioned qualities of personnel can be attributed to PPP, however, given that the teacher is the key figure of the university, it accumulates much more characteristics. This is the pedagogical competence, and scientific significance, and professional skills. At the same time, the teacher's figure can not be viewed in isolation from the educational service that he provides, but he must develop himself, ensuring high quality of students' education.

The assessment of the competitiveness of PPPs can be carried out using the formula

For experts to assess the competitiveness of PPP elements, a scale with the ranking of any characteristic from "unsatisfactory" can be used. to excellent or from very low to very high :

Many universities conduct an annual rating evaluation of teachers. It is applicable not only for the certification of departments and faculties, but also for determining the competitiveness of the faculty and its incentives. Often, self-assessment or self-assessment is used to assess the performance of PPPs.

Self-evaluation is a procedure by which a teacher evaluates the results of his activities in accordance with the indicators developed by the institution.

This process is important for both teachers and the institution as a whole. It allows each teacher to evaluate the results of his work, put specific tasks for the future, identify shortcomings and outline ways to correct them. Abroad, teachers' self-esteem is widespread.

Conditionally, the activity of the PPP can be assessed, taking into account the public opinion that exists in any university and beyond in the teaching and scientific environment. Professional skill, attitude to one's subject, labor discipline, personal qualities, scientific name - all this and many other factors constitute a trail of public opinion, which, however, it is not possible to present to the teacher as an assessment of his work. Nevertheless, public opinion is taken into account when hiring, concluding labor contracts, career growth, additional wage premiums, etc.

Each of these methods is not objective and assesses only one aspect of the work of the teacher.

In order to give a more objective assessment of PPP activities, it is necessary to use a system of indicators that comprehensively characterize its work. The system of indicators can be differentiated depending on the set goal, for example, for regulating the payment of teachers, increasing the tariff categories, determining the competitiveness of teachers, in competitive selection, etc.

Consider a method for assessing the activities of teachers, based on the definition of the quality of their work.

This method involves the development of a system of partial indicators that characterize the teaching, methodical, scientific and public work of the teaching staff, taking into account their weight, which, as a rule, is determined by expert methods.

The number of experts in a group depends on many factors and conditions, in particular the importance of the problem being solved.

For greater reliability of the information received, the expert group should consist of 7-10 people.

Using the method of direct evaluation, using the group of experts (7 people) on a 10-point scale, the weight of the indicators (L, •) characterizing the educational, teaching, methodical, scientific and public activities of teachers is determined by the formula

After calculating the weight, generalizing indicators of the activity of teachers related to the implementation of educational, methodical, scientific and social work are determined:
