Characteristics of the upbringing process

The process of education - a set of specially organized consistent targeted actions of the educator and pupil (their interaction) for the purpose of education, development and formation of the personality of the latter. It is a specially organized interaction of teachers and pupils about the content of education using pedagogical means to solve educational problems aimed at meeting the needs of both society and the state, and the person himself in his development and self-development.

Any process takes place in time. This is a successive change of one state of the pedagogical system to another. Due to what happens such a shift? Or, in other words: what is the driving force of the upbringing process? In pedagogical processes (educational, educational) movement is the result of pedagogical interaction.

Contradictions as the engine of the upbringing process

Philosophical law of unity and struggle of opposites argues that the development of the phenomenon is possible only as a result of the internal struggle of the contradictions concealed in it, peculiar to the given phenomenon. What are the contradictions objectively concluded in the process of education?

Conditionally, there are several groups of such contradictions.

First, these are contradictions related to the activity of the educator, who makes certain demands on the pupil, and the latter may not be ready for their fulfillment. Before the pupil there is a task: to understand, understand the meaning of the demand, determine its attitude to it.

Secondly, the contradictions may be due to the lack of development of this or that quality or skill in the pupil. For example, knowing what to do in a certain situation in some particular way, the child, because of their incompetence, ineptitude, or anything else, yet can not follow the social norm. He needs time to realize, inner work, to overcome the difficulty, finally, experience to try himself. That is, the student faces a contradiction between his claims, abilities, individuality and the demands of society, class, group. This contradiction should be solved, and the educator should create conditions for this.

Thirdly, this is a contradiction between the way the educator sees the future of his pupils and what they really expect in 10-20 years. The goal of the teacher's activity is always based on assumptions, forecasts, some kind of foresight of the future. The pupils and the teacher live in today's life, but the teacher has to think over the questions, what kind of person will be successful in the future, what will society be like in the future, how to help children integrate in it. Not always the positions of the educator and pupil in this matter coincide. There is a contradiction, which Sh. A. Amonashvili calls "the main tragedy of education".

Especially difficult is education in an avalanche-changing society, which was our country in 1990-2000-ies. In such a society, the interests of people and various groups (age, professional, social) do not always coincide, often contradict each other, the structure of values changes, the idea of upbringing and an educational ideal. People sometimes do not know what qualities of a person should be considered positive, and which ones are harmful to a person and society. Often the educational tasks of the family and school, the reference groups of the child, do not coincide. This situation can become a trigger for deviations in the behavior and development of the child.

There is also the following group of contradictions: between what is convenient to educate and what the pupil really needs. So, if you ask the teacher what kind of personal qualities the child should have so that he can be described as a good student, then in the first place will be such qualities as obedience, discipline, perseverance, etc. It is the formation of these qualities that is encouraged by the teacher. But such qualities as enterprise, independence, creativity, etc., will be on the list among the last. While today's junior schoolchild in 20 years will be an adult citizen of the country, and it is these latter qualities that may be more necessary for him.
