Methods of control, self-control and self-esteem in upbringing

Managing the process of education is impossible without feedback, which gives a description of its effectiveness. This function is assisted by methods of control, self-control and self-esteem in upbringing.

In order to evaluate the effectiveness of the upbringing process, it is necessary to study the activities and behavior of those who are being educated.

The main methods of control are:

1) pedagogical observation of the student;

2) conversations aimed at revealing upbringing, surveys (questionnaire, oral, etc.);

3) analysis of the results of socially useful activities;

4) the fulfillment of assignments of bodies of student self-government;

5) creating situations for studying the behavior of those who are being educated.

Pedagogical observation is characterized by a direct perception of activity, communication, personality behavior in the integrity and dynamics of their change. Distinguish the various types of observation - direct and indirect, open and hidden, continuous and discrete, monographic and narrow, etc.

In order to successfully use observation to study the upbringing of an individual, one must conduct it for a specific purpose, own a program of studying the personality, signs and criteria for assessing its upbringing.

Observations should be systematic. In connection with the fact that the results of observations of the behavior and activities of students are not easily retained in memory, it is advisable to keep special entries in diaries, reflecting both general facts and specific ones relating to individual pupils.

Conversations with pupils help teachers to clarify the students' level of awareness in the field of moral problems, norms and rules of behavior, to identify the reasons for deviations from these norms when they are observed. Simultaneously, teachers record opinions, statements of students to assess the quality of their educational influences, the attitude of children to each other, their likes, dislikes, etc.

Increasingly, in classrooms psychological questionnaires are used that reveal the nature of relations between members of the collective, comradely attachments or, conversely, negative attitudes toward one or another of its members. Such questionnaires allow timely detection of emerging contradictions and take measures for their rapid and skilful resolution. The use of questionnaires is not so simple, when compiling them, certain rules should be observed, for example, do not put questions in a straightforward form, the content of the answers should give reciprocal information, etc.

To study the results of public and work activities of students, it is necessary to conduct interviews and interviews not only themselves, but also their parents.

The process of upbringing can be considered effective if the child has a need for self-education - in conscious systematic work on himself. Self-education arises when a child is prepared for him, when he begins to think about his future, to manifest a certain independence in practical life.

Self-education in children occurs under the influence of all educational work in school and family. After all, the child is not only an object, but also a subject of the educational process. Therefore, self-education is the necessary stage in the development of the personality, when there is an active work on oneself (awareness of their shortcomings and their correlation with the merits and demerits of their personality, the desire to correct shortcomings in behavior, in character).

Self-control methods include self-monitoring and self-esteem. Self-control is the regular recording of one's behavior in order to identify new qualities of character and combat shortcomings.

Self-esteem helps to weigh and assess their capabilities, to look at oneself from the outside, to give an objective assessment of the development of both individual qualities of the person and the person as a whole, to cause dissatisfaction with their behavior. It is important to teach the child to correctly assess themselves, their behavior, do not overstate and underestimate self-esteem, do not overestimate yourself.

The above general methods of education do not exhaust the whole variety of methods of pedagogical interaction of educators and pupils. Pedagogical science and practice, responding to the needs of society, are looking for and finding ways to improve educational work.
