Psychological readiness to change the nature of their activities

Today, with the help of electronic computers, an effective global information system is being created. The agenda poses the problem of creating a kind of "infrastructure" for the development of communication networks, information technologies, which will bind society together. The first infrastructure is transport to transport people and goods. The second infrastructure was historically the means of energy delivery - oil and gas pipelines, power lines. The third infrastructure was telecommunications, primarily telecomputers, television. All this leads to enormous changes in the nature of labor. Many professions are unnecessary. On the contrary, the need for new specialists is increasing.

In the technological systems of tomorrow - high-speed, maneuverable and self-adjusting - the machine will collapse the flow of physical materials, and to people - an information flow that will exacerbate the ability to penetrate the essence of things. Machines will quickly perform routine tasks, and people will solve intellectual and creative tasks. Both cars and people will not be concentrated in giant factories and in industrial centers, but will be scattered around the globe and connected with each other by strikingly sensitive, almost instantly acting communications. Work will go beyond production workshops and crowded offices, people will work in small groups and at home.

The technologies of the future, as mentioned above, do not need millions of illiterate people who are ready to work in full compliance with the endlessly repetitive work, they do not need people who obediently obey orders that know that the price of daily bread is an automatic submission to the authorities; it needs those who are capable of critical judgment, who can orient in the new conditions, who quickly determines new ties in the rapidly changing reality.

The social task now is to increase the ability of an individual to overcome difficulties, i.e. quickly and economically adapt to continuously changing conditions. And the faster the rate of change, the more attention must be paid to the recognition of future events.

Free will and personal responsibility

Freedom, if it is correlated with the requirements of morality, expediency, the interests of society and humanity, easily turns into permissiveness. In United States social thought, two words always differed: "freedom" and "will". The will was often understood as the revelry of dark passions, destructive impulses.

Can a person be absolutely free? No, because society, humanity as a whole is limited in its resources, opportunities. It lives in a reality where natural cataclysms, wars, social conflicts are not ruled out, therefore, on the way to the ultimate realization of individual needs, barriers always arise. But there is another no less significant limiter - the moral, - constantly putting us in the position of choice.

For example, a person has the right to buy a new suit, but then his younger brother will suffer, who also dreams of buying. You can part with your beloved being, knowing that this creature will suffer. In friendship you can prove yourself a despot, but what kind of friendship is this? So, the freedom of a person turns into unfreedom for others.

The main character of the novel by FM Dostoevsky "Crime and Punishment" Rodion Raskolnikov kills the old woman-interest-holder not because he needs money. It is important for Raskolnikov to solve another, more significant question for him: "Can I ... dare I? If I can not, then I'm a trembling creature. " Raskolnikov decides for himself the question of how far he can realize his freedom. But the price of such a rush is murder, crime.

Today, many talk about freedom, but often it turns out that it is about permissiveness, not only at the level of individuals, but also at the level of the whole society. The history of mankind, unfortunately, has given many examples of such collective permissiveness of power, which keeps people in awe: these are theories, despots, and totalitarian regimes. If a single individual, as a rule, life itself suggests that the freedom of one person ends where the freedom of the other begins, and he is compelled to reckon with this, then all sorts of "clans", "families", "dynasties", courtyards Such tips were rarely kept from violating the freedom of others. But democracy around the world is expanding its borders, and the people do not want to put up with any restrictions anymore.

We are increasingly thinking about the fact that a superficial understanding of the phenomenon of freedom is dangerous. Sometimes people talk about the need for emancipation. Let it realize its own identity. We remove all fetters and let the person embody his thoughts. It would seem, how wonderful it is. The person is inviolable. A person can not be deprived of the right to protect his life, his honor, his property. But after all people can in the order of self-defense to kill each other.

Freedom is one of the conditions of responsibility. Responsibility is one of the manifestations of freedom, in particular as an autonomy. "A person has the right to make decisions and perform actions according to his opinions and preferences, but he must be responsible for his consequences and can not shift the blame for the negative results of his decisions and actions to others. This was pointed out by Aristotle, emphasizing that an arbitrary (that is, free) action, but committed in ignorance (he distinguishes actions on ignorance, for which a person can not be responsible, from actions in ignorance), indicates the viciousness of the action, and even the depravity of the action itself.
