Teacher in modern society - Pedagogy

Teacher in modern society

The current socio-economic situation in the country is characterized by rapid changes in all spheres of life: the development of innovative processes, the expansion of intercultural communications, the change of values and priorities. The school has always been, on the one hand, a conductor of the fundamental ideas of society and the state, on the other - the "mirror", in which all the problems and contradictions of violent social changes were instantly reflected. In turn, the teacher as the main character of the pedagogical process is always at the center of the turning events, in many ways assumes responsibility for the success of solving new problems, creates conditions for the maximum adaptation of the younger generation to complex life situations.

At a meeting with students, the corresponding member of the United States Academy of Education, the director of the Moscow school, EA Karakovsky said with alarm and pain: "It has never been so difficult for a teacher to work in a school. Life has set before him tasks of unprecedented complexity. And at the same time, there was never any discontent with the school and the teacher to such an extent. "

What is the reason for such a complex and ambiguous position of the modern teacher in the society, with which, first of all, are the difficulties of performing his professional activity?

According to VA Slastenin, by now a number of contradictions have emerged in the sphere of professional work of the teacher. This is a contradiction between the dynamics of professional tasks and the teacher's internal unwillingness to implement them; between the uncertainty of educational policy and the desire of the teacher to take a clear and consistent position; between the natural personal need of the teacher in creative self-realization and the impossibility of satisfying it; between the growing volume of relevant information and the old ways of its processing, storage and transfer; between the society's need for educational services and the reduction of teachers' working time reserves, as well as the decrease in the number and low material level of teachers. This objective social situation is reflected in the contradictions of the subjective attitude of teachers towards their work. Thus, most teachers, appreciating the importance of the profession, are not satisfied with their work in the school. All this leads to the fact that there is a high turnover of pedagogical personnel, a low influx of young teachers into school, a lack of motivation for pedagogical creativity, self-development in the profession.

In many ways, one of the reasons for the current situation is that the modern development of society has led to a significant complication of pedagogical activity, and, consequently, to increasing the requirements for the teacher. Today the teacher is increasingly acting not simply as a "translator" information, but rather as an organizer and coordinator of a variety of social and pedagogical conditions that ensure the formation of a "subject-subject" in the student. relations, purposeful formation and development of his personality.

In this regard, it is quite obvious that a teacher, formed as a competitive person, who is able not only to serve traditional pedagogical and social technologies, but also to carry out innovative processes, creative processes in a broad sense, must come to school today.

Just as society has an impact on the school, so the school has a huge impact on society, either reproducing stereotypes that have developed in it, or working on its perspective. But the school is such, what is the teacher, who not only fulfills his professional duties, but also acts as the subject of social progress. Because there are no miraculous systems, there is a teacher armed with a progressive system, formed as a creative, socially active person who freely orientates in difficult socio-cultural circumstances, responsibly and professionally acts in the educational process. "Teaching special talent always resolutely declared himself. Today it is the golden fund of the nation, the soul and the brain of the school.

The teacher only then justifies the social expectations, if his personality, general and professional culture develops at a faster rate in relation to the younger generation and the bulk of the population.

However, not all teachers correspond to their status. The reason for this is that sometimes the alienation of the teacher from culture, from society, from school, from the child. Most of the teachers working now in the school were formed - both socially and professionally - in that not-so-distant period when uniformity and unanimity were imbued, and pedagogical creativity was allowed only within the prescribed "above" norms. Internal social and moral-psychological restructuring of teaching requires from him a huge spiritual robot, gaining creative freedom and intelligence. And intellectuals, experts say, initially and functionally, are a critically thinking cohort of people who not only perform stereotyped mental operations in the work process, but turn spiritual activity into a creative process.
