Gender functions are generally a theoretical construct which implies the behavioral norms and interpersonal norms available in specific civilizations which are considered appropriate to a specific gender (Lee 5). Gender tasks are thus a representation of the natural aspirations of the customers of that gender. The apparent physical variations existing between males and females have resulted to different orientations of men and women in regard to the sort of tasks they undertake. The remaining hemisphere of the brain of females is better thus they perform better in duties requiring talk articulation and terms manipulation. Males basically dominate in the jobs requiring right hemisphere domination in that way executing better in tasks requiring physical manipulation like aiming or moving things. On standardized success tests, males score higher while in interacting with the lay out social commitments like good behavior in school or producing neat work the females rating higher.

When I had been growing up, there were specific gender roles which I undertook while some were carried out by my sister. Thus to be able to instill the perception that men ought to be strong I undertook such tasks as driving, cleansing my parents car or mowing the grass. On the contrary, my sister was involved in such household jobs as cooking, childcare, cleaning the home and dusting the house areas. She also helped my mother to undertake such duties as buying presents during such occasions as weddings and birthdays as well as writing many thanks notes after important events took place. My sister thus undertook these duties in order to get ready her to on her behalf role of taking care for the family as the gender jobs stipulates that the woman is the principal doer of home jobs. Food shopping, preparing food, general household looks and cleanliness are female jobs which my sister was ready to undertake due to the jobs she was presented with to undertake when we were growing up. Thus my parents modeled the gender functions to meet up with the given societal requirements for boys and girls in a bet to enhance them into women and men in the foreseeable future.

Socialization serves as a a relational method between children and their parents with the primary objective of building gender identification in the child (Weiten 179). Our actions, thoughts and manners are as a result of socialization thus from my childhood, existing cultural requirements and attitudes clearly discussed the society's goals of the behavior I was to demonstrate. The type of modeling and molding I received when growing up was typically intended to design the type of person population expected me to be. For example the roles that i undertook were clearly intended to exude power as well as engaging in dangerous professionals. It is through socialization that I learnt the appropriate behavior for men and women. The family I was raised in had substantial affect in socializing me to obtain the gender tasks I did. In order to build my gender personality as a man the house environment got features that can best be described as manly. I interacted generally with my father who largely molded the educational and behavioral features I achieved. Basically the stereotypes in regard to the features of men as strong and non emotional was acquired through just how my parents outfitted me, the toys they bought as well as just how my room was decorated. For instance most of my toys comprised of machine guns and toy cars and trucks. My room was basically decorated with cool colors like blue and globe hues like dark brown. My parents' attitudes and manners towards my activities basically socialized me to becoming a macho man. For instance, they might reprimand me after i cried and explained that men are not likely to cry. My parents dressed up me in jeans and suits generally in dull colors unlike my sister who was simply dressed in lovely colorful dresses. I was expected to take action in a far more adult manner unlike my sister. For instance, I used to be allowed much time out using my friends unlike my sister who was expected to be in the house almost all of the time. An in depth gender relationship developed between me and my mom which essentially stipulated the way in which where I must establish the original roles of a guy as required in the world. The functions which my sister undertook were basically designed to make her demonstrate tenderness, nurturing pursuits as well as demonstrating care. Her playthings were largely dolls, baby toys and toy floor cleaners. She was educated to behave passively particularly when in the company of boys.

In final result, gender socialization takes on an important role in making it possible to comprehend different gender roles in individuals (Sigelman and Rider 36). As the aforementioned examples and description clearly demonstrates both men and women have consistent fundamental ways that their stipulated assignments are disseminated from their parents, care givers as well as siblings and peers. Although today's population has largely become liberal in so far as gender roles are worried, the socialization process is a clear indication that men and women already have mental pictures in regard to the manner where children of different genders are raised. Through imitation and conditioning I determined my future important role of being a family provider. Although men are usually thought to be the bakery winners of their families, this role is little by little changing with a lot of women being in pros which were traditionally occupied by men in that way providing to their families. Through the World War II, women were involved in such professions as clerical duties which previously were being regarded as male professions. Others were deployed to the conflict zones to struggle and provide the necessary support like health care.
