Holistic procedure of yoga for health

In this modern period, we have all the material comforts scheduled to breakthroughs in technology; this immediate progress and scientific development has transformed the life design of the people, which seems to present many obstacles. Today, one's life-style has changed in all respects, viz physical, mental & social. Mankind suffered with infectious & contagious diseases before 19th century. Thanks to all advancements in modern drugs, it has helped us to get these infectious & contagious diseases in order. These are now changed by psychosomatic health problems which are presuming epidemic proportions. Researchers are knowing that the modern lifestyle has a major contribution because of this. The modern medical technology is realizing its limits in treating these psychosomatic illnesses as evidenced by low success rates in the treatment, side effects of the drugs & continuing upsurge in the incidence of these life style problems. So, people want for some different remedy for his or her problems for effective management of these problems. In the past few years there exists tremendous scope for the Complimentary & Alternative Medications (CAM).

The goal of this article is to provide information about the positive great things about another system. Now is the time to examine our way in dealing with psychosomatic problems. An alteration in frame of mind and lifestyle is necessary to help us to handle the problems and diseases. Over the positive aspect, man gets the potential to search for pragmatic and simple solutions. By finding reasonable alternatives and by creating positive solutions, the issues can be resolved, and the world brought out of its present crisis.

Recent researches show that brain, the psyche takes on a excellent role in almost all of the psychosomatic diseases. The biomedical procedure of modern drugs has viewed only (Physical) superficial facet of one's existence, which in turn appears to have limited its treatment success. Vedas the treasure house of historic Indian science, which include Yoga & Ayurveda, may play an important role in dealing with these diseases with the holistic/ integrated strategy. These two systems play a primary role in the expanded version of CAM. This knowledge is more than 5000 years old. These are the major tools to attain Chaturtha purusharthas (Dharma, Artha, Kama, and Moksha) which is a prime goal of all human being. Inside the classics they very wonderfully explains that, we need long healthy life span to attain chaturvidha purusharthas, ayurveda helps to achieve long healthy life time & yoga is to accomplish an increased goal like Moksha(Liberation). As Yoga may calm down the mind, so in the modern era it is becoming an important tool to take care of these psychosomatic diseases. Even though it is known for higher goal like Moksha, its need of the hour to successful conquering the difficulties of these psychosomatic diseases. Through yoga, you can understand this real cause and take steps to establish serenity and harmony. The methods are integrated in any way levels - Annamaya koa, Pranamaya koa, Manomaya koa, Vij±namaya Koa and nandamaya koa - promoting physical, mental, cultural and spiritual health.

Concept of health and Yoga

"Health is a state of well-being at physical, mental, social and spiritual levels and not merely an lack of disorder or infirmity". This is actually the classification of Health as defined by World Health Corporation (WHO). Ahead of this latest meaning the World Health Organization used only three components e. g. Physical, Mental and Social. The "spiritual" role performed in making a healthy body was very newly identified by this International Power only after knowing the efficiency of yoga as a knowledge in totality, so to say, a built-in and holistic research.

Sri Aurobindo stresses, health is an all-round personality development; at the physical, mental, intellectual, psychological and religious levels. It is a process where the constraints and flaws can be washed away resulting in a superhuman race. The brand new facilities of deeper perceptions of the world beyond the five senses emerge in this stage of superman life. Further growth contributes to man to unfold ever deeper layers of consciousness and widen the spectral range of his knowledge to move towards divinity or perfection. Yoga is a organized conscious process for accelerating the expansion of human being from his animal level and finally to divinity. It really is a systematic technique for all-round personality development on the physical, mental, intellectual, psychological and spiritual components of man. Thus, Yoga in its standard technique for the growth of man to divine heights includes techniques helpful for therapeutic applications in making man healthier. Yoga life-style is characterized by peace and tranquility, harmony and health, love and enjoyment, detail and efficiency.

The aim of this report is to provide information about the positive benefits of an alternate system. Unlike classic treatments where in the use of drugs treat only the surface level of the problems and there are also dangerous side effects, which sometimes may cause more problems the original yoga philosophy respect the human being as an indivisible entity. So that it adopts a alternative approach. The root cause of the present day psychosomatic health problems is the stress. Through yoga, you can understand this real cause and take methods to establish peace and harmony. The approaches are integrated whatsoever levels - ‡ - ¶ (annamaya koa ), ‡ - ¶ (pramaya koa), ‡ - ¶ (manomaya koa ), ‡ - ¶ (vij±namaya koa) and ‡ - ¶(nandamaya koa) - promoting physical, mental, interpersonal and religious health.

Recent research proved the efficacy of yoga in the treatment of psychosomatic diseases, but as it is relatively not used to treat these diseases, experts believe that more research needs to be under considered.

Integrated Methodology of Yoga Remedy (I. A. Y. T)

In ancient science yoga is known for higher goals like Moksha (Liberation). But as we know the necessity of the hour is to use Yoga for treating the psychosomatic disorders. From the last few years yoga gained recognition among the Complimentary & Option Medicines (CAM) in every parts of the entire world. Different people are employing it in different ways. It has additionally be a part of education with its multifold advantages. Yoga is utilized for developing memory space, intelligence and ingenuity.

The modern medical system has changed almost all the traditions system of medicine in different parts of the globe because of its relational basis. It includes proved itself most reliable in saving man from the fatal hands of contagious and infectious diseases. But many psychosomatic ailments and psychiatric problems create a great disruption to the present day medical system. It is here that yoga is making a vital contribution to the modern medical system.

Patanjali defines "YOGA" in his second patanjali's aphorism as; "Yogah Citta Vriti Nirodhah" Yoga is a continuous process of increasing control over your brain which helps us to attain over original talk about. Yoga helps us to remain relaxed and silent under a given situation and to think and act accordingly. According to yoga Vasistha, Yoga is a skilful technique to calm down the mind on the tend it is portrayed as

"Manah Prasamanopayah Yoga Ityabhidhiyate".

According to Bhagwad Gita, it is, "yogah karmasu kausalam" which says yoga is dexterity doing his thing.

According to Sri Aurobindo, health can be an all-round personality development; at the physical, mental, intellectual, psychological and religious levels. It really is a process by which the limitation and defects can be washed away resulting in a super human race. Further growth leads man to unfold even deeper layers of consciousness and broaden the spectral range of his knowledge to more towards divinity or excellence. On this march towards efficiency, Yoga is a systematic mindful process for accelerating the development of a human being from his creature level and in the end to divinity. It really is a systematic methodology for and all round personality development physical, mental, intellectual, psychological and spiritual the different parts of man. Thus, yoga in its general technique for the growth of man to divine heights includes technique useful for therapeutic applications in making man healthier. Yoga not only provides approaches for the development of man from his dog level to levels of perfection it carves out a means of life for him. Yoga way of life in characterized by tranquility and tranquility, harmony and health, love and pleasure, perfection and efficiency.

Pancha kosa:

Pancha Kosa has been taken from Taittireya Upanisad. Individuals existence is made possible because of balance between five layers or Kosas. These Kosas are called Pancha Kosa, the 5 livered existence of individual. The fine Kosas are:

i) Annamaya Kosa: This is the physical coating, over physical body is made of 'anna' or matter. This matter centered facet of our physical personality is Annamaya Kosa. Annamaya Kosa involves five elements are Panchabhutas specifically - earth, water, fire, wind and space. Thus, Annamaya Kosa is the physical frame which is the grossest of the five Kosas.

ii) Pranamaya Kosa: It is prana - the essential push which is the essential fabric of this universe both inside and outside the body. A even harmonious movement of prana to every single all of the Annamya Kosa helps to keep them alive and healthy. Prana flows through nadis to create 'Pancha Prana' namely - Apana, Prana, Udana, Samana and Vyana.

iii) Manomaya Kosas: This is the mental part where thoughts bring about strong emotion. It really is this emotion that is the root cause of all human enjoyment and problems. When this emotion grows more powerful, they govern against our right activities. This causes imbalances called Adhi or stress. Long ranking Adhis get forced into pranamaya and annamaya Kosa creating Vyadhis.

iv) Vijanamaya Kosa: This is actually the discriminating faculty. It works on conscience which consistently books the manamoya kosa to get mastery over the essential instincts. It really is this element of your brain that was developed in people that greatly differentiates man from animals.

v) Anandamaya Kosa: This is the bliss layer of our own existence. This is the most suitable facet of our life which comes from of any form of feelings. Bliss is embodied in Anandamaya Kosa, the highest stage of feeling in the manifested lifestyle. It's the subtest among the list of five layers of living.

The research of health issues:

In Anandamaya Kosa a guy is healthiest with perfect harmony and balance of all his faculties. At Vijnanamaya Kosa the motions are channelized in the right route. The imbalances start only in the Manomaya Kosa. This imbalance amplifies themselves leading to mental health problems called 'Adhi'. At this time there are no symptoms at the physical level. The mental diseases percolate to the physical from because of the growth of wrong actions. These breed physical diseases are called Vyadhi which is split into Adhija Vyadhi and Anadhija Vyadhi.

The Adhija Vyadhi is two fold- samanya and sara. The past includes diseases incidental to your body. These may be referred to as psychosomatic ailments. However the latter is in charge of rebirth to which all men are subjected.

The second group of problems is Anadija Vyadhi - those which are not originated by brain. These would probably include the infectious and contagious disease.

The disturbances in the Manomaya Kosa percolate in to the physical layer through the Pranamaya Kosa. Hence in the treating these psychosomatic disorders it becomes necessary to just work at all the levels of pancha kosa. The built-in approach thus, consists isn't just dealing with physical sheath, it also includes using technique to operate in several sheaths in our existence. A brief description is given below.

i) Annamaya Kosa: a healthy yogic diet, kriyas, loosing exercises and yogasanas are being used to operate at the annamaya kosa level also to take away the physical symptoms of the problems and also performs an important role in building the strength.

ii) Pranamaya Kosa: Prana is the basic life process. Pranamaya is a process for increasing control over prana. Throughout the techniques of proper respiration, Kriyas pranayamas, we start working on pranamaya Kosa. Thus, health conditions are handled at this pranamaya Kosa level.

iii) Manomaya Kosa: A primary operation upon this level is manufactured possible by the last three limbs of Astanga Yoga of Patanjali-Dharma, Dhyana and Samadhi. A devotional treatment comprising of prayers, chants, Bhajans, Dhuns, Stotras etc. help build a congenial atmosphere to evoke, realize, attenuate and dissipate the sentiment. Therefore, the control over the manomaya kosa means control over the adhis and vyadhis.

iv) Vijnanamaya Kosa: we will come over all the miseries and obsessions by basic understanding and right knowledge. Hearing lectures, discussing and counseling of yoga viewpoint; positives, and constructive subject areas offers the right attitude.

v) Anadamaya Kosa: The body of happiness can only just be helped bring by dealing with a history of blissfulness the techniques used come under the proceeding of Karma Yoga the secret of action.

Thus the IAYT helps us for the full total holistic health and humanity to build a divine contemporary society.

CHAPTER 8: DIABETES MELLITUS

Definition:

Diabetes mellitus (DM) identifies several common metabolic disorders that show the phenotype of hyperglycemia. Several unique types of DM are present and are caused by a complex conversation of genetics and environmental factors. With regards to the etiology of the DM, factors adding to hyperglycemia include reduced insulin secretion, reduced glucose usage, and increased blood sugar creation. The metabolic dysregulation associated with DM causes extra pathophysiologic changes in multiple organ systems that impose a significant burden on the individual with diabetes and on medical care system.

It is most common of the endocrine disorders. Being long-term it influences the metabolism of glucose, protein, fat, water and electrolytes. The effect is by effecting the attention, kidney and nervous system.

Classification:

Diabetes mellitus is labeled into 2 major types.

Insulin Dependent Diabetes Mellitus (IDDM) or Juvenile Onset Diabetes (JOD)

Non-Insuline Dependent Diabetes Mellitus. (NIDDM)

1. Insuline Dependent Diabetes Mellitus (IDDM)

This can be an Defense Mediated Diabetes which is caused by a happening called "Auto Immune system Mechanism". Here, the disease fighting capability goes incorrect and produce antibodies. When autoimmune mechanisms are directed against the insulin producing B-cells of the pancreas (diabetes does not occur until 80% of B-cells are demolished). saaaq Then, the pancreas prevents producing insulin or producing inadequate qualities this inhibits glucose from getting into the body skin cells which results higher level of food by means of glucose in the blood stream, this type of diabetes must inject themselves daily with insulin.

Juvenile Onset Diabetes:

This subtype commonly occurs in childhood and adolescence but may appear in any era both sexes can be afflicted.

Idiopathic Diabetes is also type of IDDM. Here eating plays an important part. There is absolutely no proof B-cell destruction. Episodes of climb in blood glucose and ketone accumulation may occur occasionally. The patients may necessitate insulin treatment for success.

2. Non-insulin Dependent Diabetes Mellitus / Adult Starting point Diabetes (AOD)

In this kind an inappropriate secretion of insulin at the incorrect time or your body concern becomes less responsive to the insulin. In this particular form of diabetes insulin release may actually occur too past due in the pattern so the blood sugar levels level rises to a higher level before insulin is secreted and when it is secreted then that there is a no enough to handle the high blood sugar level. It is called "Non-Insulin Dependent DM" because it can usually be controlled without the utilization of insulin injection. This type was also known as Adult Starting point Diabetes since it occurs most often in people, 40 years and more aged.

Other types of Diabetes.

a) Potential diabЁtes: Patients are experiencing increase liability to build up diabetes scheduled to hereditary reason on child of diabetes parents.

b) Latent Diabetes:

Patients who have shown abnormal results under assessing a burden on the pancreatic all during being pregnant or disease.

Causes of Diabetes:

Type 1 Diabetes occurs due to heredity, and autoimmunity.

Type 2 Diabetes occurs scheduled to heredity, overweight, sedentary life-style and degenative

Heredity:

The heredity characteristics are:

If a father or mother has type-1 diabetes i. e. IDDM, a kid has 2-5% change of expanding DM. If a child has Type-1 DM, the changes of any brother or a sister developing DM is of the order of 5-10%.

If a person with one mother or father with type-II Diabetes has a potential for 25% of producing type-II diabetes during adult hood.

If both the parents have diabetes it increase to 50%

If one has type-II diabetes the probability of a brother or a sister with develop in the order of 20-40%

Overweight: 50-80% of the people with type-II diabetes are overweight during diagnosis.

Auto immunity: In this problem, the body's immune system mistakenly episodes and destroys of its skin cells eg. Beta skin cells of the islets of langerhans in Type-1 diabetes.

Age: When there are two children of parents with diabetes and one becomes fat during adulthood and the other does not one will be more likely to develop type II Diabetes

Signs and Symptoms:

Diabetes mellitus usually occurs with following indication and symptoms.

Post prandial blood sugar (PPBS), Normal range - 130-160mg% or (6-8 mmol/l)

Urine Test - Blood sugar appears in urine when the blood glucose level exceeds about 180mg%. This limit is named Renal Kidney threshold for sugar.

Methods of testing Glucose/Glucose.

Benedicts test

Paper remove test.

Glucose Tolerance Test:

Medical Management:

Diabetes mellitus can't be cured completely but can be kept under control by making use of nutritionary changes, drugs or insulin.

Classification:

Several classifications can be found. Feinstein explained 3 major types of clinimetric indexes that are highly relevant to classification systems used for patients with LBP. They are the status index, the prognostic index, and the professional medical guideline index.

Followings are some conditions with a symptom of again pain

Sciatica:

A severe firing pain that radiates from the low back along the back of the thigh down to the outer internal side of the foot.

Anandamaya koha

Happiness is the basis of everything. Setting oneself in this covering while performing activities is the key to happiness.

Spinal canal stenosis

Spinal stenosis is a disorder where there is irregular narrowing in the vertebral canal. This narrowing limits the amount of space available for the spinal-cord and nerves. As spinal stenosis becomes more severe there is compression or squeezing of the spinal cord and its nerves. Vertebral stenosis may appear anywhere in the spinal canal, but it is most common in the cervical and lumbar back.

Causes:

The most frequent reason to develop vertebral stenosis is degenerative arthritis, or bony and soft cells changes that result from ageing. Spinal stenosis is usually seen in patients over 50 years of age, and becomes gradually more severe with increased age. The standard "wear and tear" of ageing can cause arthritis in the back that brings about spinal stenosis. This can be from bone spurs (osteophytes) forming, bulging and wear of the intervertebral discs, and thickening of the ligaments between your vertebrae.

Spinal Stenosis Symptoms

The symptoms of vertebral stenosis be based upon where the stenosis occurs in the spinal canal and how severe it is. Symptoms brought on by compression of the spinal cord are called myelopathy. These can include: worsening balance, dropping, dropping objects, difficulty buttoning buttons or picking right up small cash, and lack of control of the colon and/or bladder. Symptoms brought on by compression of the nerves are called radiculopathy. These range from: pain, numbness, tingling, or weakness along the path of the nerve being compressed.

When stenosis advances in the throat (cervical back stenosis) there can be compression of the spinal cord and the nerves that travel in to the biceps and triceps and hands. This may cause symptoms of: myelopathy, numbness, tingling, weakness or cramping in the biceps and triceps and hands.

When the stenosis builds up in the lower back again (lumbar spine stenosis) there exists compression of the nerves that travel into the legs and ft. This can cause: pain, numbness, tingling, weakness or cramping in the hip and legs and feet, especially gradually with walking and being relieved with relaxing. These symptoms are occasionally known as pseudoclaudication as they mimic the symptoms of inadequate circulation to the legs that is referred to as claudication.

Diagnosis:

Depends on background, physical assessment and X ray, MRI, CT check of spine

Management: There are many treatments designed for vertebral stenosis depending on how severe of symptoms.

Conservative treatment involves medication (aspirin and non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs), orthotics (a highly effective thoraco-lumbar spine brace which will keep the spine in a few flexion); exercise (such as a stationary bicycle); and behavior changes (a pushcart when shopping, mild leaning ahead when sitting, avoiding prolonged position, and steering clear of sleeping on the back without pillows under the legs).

Surgery: If traditional treatments are unsuccessful, surgery could be the answer. Using a technique called decompression,

BIPOLAR DISORDER

Definition:

Bipolar disorder or manic-depressive disorder, which is generally known as bipolar affective disorder or manic unhappiness, is a psychiatric identification that represents a group of mood disorders identified by the occurrence of one or more episodes of abnormally raised energy, cognition, and feelings with or without a number of depressive episodes. The enhanced moods are medically known as mania or, if milder, hypomania. Individuals who experience manic episodes also commonly experience depressive episodes, or symptoms, or blended episodes in which top features of both mania and depression are present at the same time. These shows are usually separated by times of "normal" spirits; but, in a few individuals, unhappiness and mania may quickly alternate, which is known as speedy cycling. Extreme manic shows can sometimes lead to such psychotic symptoms as delusions and hallucinations.

Causes:

There is well known cause for Bipolar disorder, possible causes are

Childhood precursors

Life events and experiences

Neural processes

Melatonin activity

Psychological processes

Classification:

The disorder has been subdivided into bipolar I, bipolar II, cyclothymia, predicated on the nature and seriousness of mood episodes experienced; the range is often described as the bipolar spectrum.

Signs and symptoms:

Depends on type of episode,

Depressive show: include continual feelings of sadness, anxiety, guilt, anger, isolation, or hopelessness; disturbances in sleep and appetite; fatigue and loss of curiosity about usually gratifying activities; problems concentrating; loneliness, self-loathing, apathy or indifference; depersonalization; loss of interest in sex; shyness or public anxiety; irritability, long-term pain (with or without a known cause); insufficient inspiration; and morbid suicidal ideation. In severe situations, the individual may become psychotic, a disorder also called severe bipolar melancholy with psychotic features.

Manic event: Characterized by a distinct amount of an elevated, expansive, or irritable feeling point out. People commonly experience an increase in energy and a decreased need for sleep. A person's speech may be pressured, with thoughts experienced as race. Attention span is low, and a person in a manic state may be easily distracted. Judgment may become impaired, and victims may continue spending sprees or engage in tendencies that is quite unusual for them. They could indulge in drug abuse, particularly alcoholic beverages or other depressants, cocaine or other stimulants, or sleeping pills. Their behaviour may become hostile, intolerant, or intrusive. People may feel uncontrollable or unstoppable. People may feel they have been "chosen" and are "on a particular objective" or have other grandiose or delusional ideas. Sexual drive may increase. At more extreme phases of bipolar I, a person in a manic talk about can begin to see psychosis or a rest with truth, where thinking is damaged along with ambiance. Many people in a manic talk about experience severe anxiousness and are extremely irritable (to the point of trend), while some are euphoric and grandiose. For being diagnosed with mania according to the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM), a person must experience this talk about of enhanced or irritable spirits, as well as other symptoms, for at least seven days, less if hospitalization is required.

Hypomanic instance: Seen as a optimism, pressure of speech and activity, and reduced need for sleeping. Generally, hypomania will not inhibit operating like mania.

Mixed affective tv show: mixed condition is a disorder during which symptoms of mania and clinical depression occur simultaneously (for example, agitation, anxiousness, aggressiveness or belligerence, misunderstandings, exhaustion, impulsiveness, insomnia, irritability, morbid and/or suicidal ideation, panic, paranoia, persecutory delusions, pressured conversation, racing thoughts, restlessness, and trend).

Diagnosis:

There is not any clear consensus as to how many types of bipolar disorder can be found. In DSM-IV-TR and ICD-10, bipolar disorder is conceptualized as a spectrum of disorders occurring on a continuum. The DSM-IV-TR lists three specific subtypes.

Bipolar I disorder

One or even more manic shows, subcategories specify whether there has been more than one episode, and the type of the most recent occurrence. A depressive or hypomanic tv show is not needed for diagnosis, but it frequently occurs.

Bipolar II disorder

No manic shows, but one or more hypomanic episodes and one or more major depressive show. However, a bipolar II prognosis is not a guarantee that they can not eventually suffer from such an tv show in the future. Hypomanic shows do not go directly to the full extremes of mania (i. e. , do not usually cause severe communal or occupational impairment, and are without psychosis), and this can make bipolar II more challenging to diagnose, since the hypomanic episodes may simply seem as an interval of successful high efficiency and it is reported less frequently than a distressing, crippling depression.

Cyclothymia

A record of hypomanic shows with intervals of depression that not meet criteria for major depressive shows. There's a low-grade cycling of ambiance which seems to the observer as a personality trait, and inhibits functioning.

Medical Management:

There are a number of pharmacological and psychotherapeutic techniques used to take care of Bipolar Disorder. Individuals may use self-help and go after a personal restoration voyage.

Mood stabilizer,

Anti psychotic,

Anti depressants are commonly used.

Specific leisure techniques should be targeted.

Hospitalization in case there is severe shows.

Psychotherapy

Behavioral therapy

Cognitive therapy
