Chapter 2. SOCIAL NATURE OF THE CONFLICT, ITS FEATURES

2.1. The essence and principles of the social nature of the conflict

The development of any society, any social community or group and even an individual is a complex process that does not always flow smoothly and is often associated with the emergence, deployment and resolution of contradictions. These contradictions are due to the fact that different people occupy different positions, are guided by different interests, pursue different goals, and therefore, in an effort to realize their needs, interests and goals, quite often come into conflict with each other. Individuals, social groups and even countries are looking for an opportunity to prevent an opponent from achieving a certain goal, to satisfy their interests, to change his views, views, assessments, attitudes. The appearance of information acceptable to one side and unacceptable for another (rumors, gossip), stimulates inadequate behavior. An example of this situation may be rumors of a reduction in staff in the organization. The divergence of the values and goals of employees with the goals of the organization is an important reason for the development of disputes.

In order to understand the essence of a particular social phenomenon or process, it is first of all necessary to find out the etymology of the word to which it is designated. Consider the etymology of the Latin word. It consists of a prefix signifying c, together with someone, against someone, simultaneously, as well as a verb that translates as hitting, pushing, pushing. Thus, we can treat the conflict as a clash, a dispute, a fight, a confrontation.

Such an interpretation of the concept under study inevitably leads to the conclusion that the basis for the emergence of conflict as a specific social phenomenon is objectively existing contradictions between individual individuals, their groups, states, etc.

Communicative, or behavioral, manifestations that do not meet the expectations of others, as well as the contradictions associated with issues of property, social status, power, responsibility, etc., make the conflict inevitable. And if there are so many objective reasons to insure against conflict, then it is not only possible to manage it, but it is also absolutely necessary.

From the standpoint of modern science, conflict as a phenomenon performs important functions in a person's mental life. This is most definitely claimed by humanistic psychology. Psychoanalytic understanding of human nature suggests that throughout his life a person constantly strives to weaken, reduce conflict.

Representatives of humanistic psychology believe that the complete elimination of conflicts from human life will lead to stagnation, and therefore psychologists see their task not in getting rid of conflicts, but in turning destructive conflicts into constructive conflicts, because the inner tension of the individual indicates the continuous work of the spiritual beginning .

Humanistic human model is built on the four basic principles of humanistic psychology: the principle of the integrity of the individual, the principle of positivity of human nature, the principle of development and the principle of activity.

According to the integrity principle I creates a unique character of human experiences, which depends on the integrity of the personality and determines its interaction with the outside world.

From the standpoint of the principle of positivity, a person is naturally constructive, able to solve his problems on his own.

The principle of development emphasizes the need for a person to realize the potentials inherent in it.

These principles completely coincide with the professional goals of social workers. The tasks of the social worker are consonant with the ideas of humanistic psychology: the creative potential of a person must be realized to the full and for the benefit of society.

Finally, the principle of activity implies that the individual strives to be self-sufficient and active.
